MFT Roar

I love the challenge of combining a sketch and a color challenge since I usually struggle with the restrictions of both.  I stamped, colored and die cut my animals. I made an extra lion head and elephant ear to pop up. The elephant ear is in place of the banner for the sketch.  I watercolored a piece of cardstock but scribbling my colors onto a block, spritzing on some water and placing a weight onto the block. I left the weight onto the block for a couple of minutes to get the desired color. After drying,  I die cut a frame using two of the Wonky Stitched Die-namics.

With the markers I water colored several pieces for the boarder of the sketch and finally decided to use a water colored chevron piece with all four of the MFT colors.   I die cut my letters using the MFT By the Letter Die-namics. I added an extra water colored chevron to the inside.

Blue Winter Sparrows

I finally got around to creating a snow globe with my Ready, Set, Snow set from Lawn Fawn.

This is the inside of the front of the card.
I used the shaker add-ons snow dome die to create a window through my front layer, fun foam and card base front. I adhered acetate on each side of the fun foam with glitter in between.

Inside of the card
I stamped and colored my little birds with Copic Markers, die cut them with their matching dies and added Wink of Stella to their winter accessories. I stamped the tree branch on the inside and adhered the birds onto the branch.

Front of the card
I die cut two snow globes from the add-on set and colored one with a Copic Marker. I stamped a scrap piece of card stock with the Woodgrain backdrop and die cut with the globe from the Ready, Set, Snow matching dies. It was colored with Copic Markers.  I trimmed the wood grain piece to fit onto one of the globes.  I stamped, colored, and die cut the globe sentiment then adhered it to the wood grain piece.  I adhered the colored snow globe to the front and the plain white globe on the inside for the birds.  The wood grain label was popped up onto the front globe with foam tape.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn Ready, Set, Snow (globe sentiment), Winter Sparrows (birds, branch, and inside sentiment, and Woodgrain Backdrops
Supplies: Lawn Fawn Ready, Set, Snow matching Dies and Add-on Dies, Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows matching Dies, foam fun, acetate, glitter, scor-tape, Tombo glue, Neenah White card stock, Tim Holtz stamp platform, Memento black and Rich Cocoa ink, Copic Markers: R43, 46, Y35, 38, BG45, 49, 10, 11, 13, YG63, 67, E21, 23, 25, 27, 51, 53, 55, Wink of Stella

Get Your Sparkle On

A quick CAS card today inspired by the Pin-Sights Challenge at Ellen Hutson's Classroom.  I used the bottom right photo combining polka dots, stripes and the colors using Essential by Ellen stamp set called Spread the Sparkle by Julie Ebersole.  I stamped and colored my sequins. I took an extra strip of card stock and made stripes using the same Copic Markers I used on the sequins.  I added Stickles to the sequins in two layers and added Wink of Stella to the stripes. I cut the striped strip in two and adhered one to each side of my card base. I popped up the stamped panel using some foam tape. Photo was taken when stickles was still wet, I just couldn't wait....  :)

Stamps: Essential by Ellen: Spread the sparkle
Supplies: foam tape, Neenah white card stock, Stickles, Wink of Stella, Copic Markers: Y13, 15, 17, YG03, 05, R12, 14, 17, 81, 83, 85, BG53, 57.

Welcome Baby Ellie

I die cut my angled top white panel and MFT dp with the Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics. I stamped the sentiment with my Misti.  I also stamped the elephants with my Misti to get a better impression with a solid stamp. I reinked the elephants about 3 times until I was happy.  I die cut the elephants out using the matching Die-namics. I colored in the elephant ears to match the MFT color challenge. I stamped the little star randomly with a similar teal color and went over each star with the Copic Marker that matched the baby's ear. I added Wink of Stella to the stars and the ears. The angled top panel and the elephants are popped up with foam tape.

Star Gaze

I wanted to try the no line coloring again so I stamped my bunny with barely beige ink and colored it with Copic markers. I did the same thing to the inside of the card as well. I stamped my sentiment over the bunny and die cut it out with a rectangle die. I used the Lawn Fawn plaid dp for my corners and attached everything to my card front with foam tape.

Stamps: Reverse Confetti: Count your Rainbows sentiment and Lawn Fawn Upon a Star bunny and stars.
Supplies: Spellbinders rectangle dies, foam tape, Memento black and Simon Says Stamp Barely Beige ink, Copic Markers: E40, 41, 42, 43, G20, Y11, 13, 15, C0, 00, R00, liner, Lawn Fawn perfectly plaid rainbow 6x6 paper pack, Neenah white and Stampin Up pool party card stock

So Excited

I love the freedom to create that perfect sentiment when making hand made cards. If I don't have the right stamp is it easy enough to create one on the computer and print it onto the card front.  Though most of the time I don't think about it until after my card front is colored.  I do find it easier to pick a sentiment and then find the perfect image.   It is just something I don't seem to practice... lol.   This time though I thought about the sentiment before I stamped my image.

I stamped my Art Impressions image onto my piece of grid plastic using my Misti.  I created my sentiment in my Printmaster program and printed it out. I placed the grid over it and figure which way I needed to move the two sentiment boxes and reprinted it. It took three tries to line up the sentiment boxes where I wanted them in relationship to the image.

I taped my card front to my copy paper and printed out my sentiment.   Anytime I want to print an image or sentiment onto a sheet of card stock that is smaller than a letter size I will usually try to use this method. It helps to make sure the printing is exactly where I want it and it helps to make sure the paper feeds through the printer with less issues due to the thickness of the card stock.  I usually just use regular tape after removing some of the tackiness so it will be easier to peel off after printing. I find it works most of the time.

After printing my sentiment I placed my card front into my Misti and stamped my image. I colored her with Copic Markers. I drew in the checkerboard floor, added glossy accents to Lillie's glasses and necklace, and sequins to the card for a little extra bling.

Stamps: Art Impressions Lillie
Supplies: sequins, Glossy Accents, Copic Markers: 100, YR04, 07, 09, 15, R37, RV10, 32, B12, 14, 16, E000, 00, 11, black liner, Neenah white card stock, Gold gel pen,

Dragon Eight

I absolutely love this little dragon from Sugarpea Designs. I used him for this months' sketch challenge. I masked off his hand to stamp the piece of cake.

I die cut the eight from the colored image and placed two extra white die cut eights under the colored eight for dimension.  He is colored with Copic Markers and is die cut using a stitched circle die and matted with another stitched circle die of blue.  I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment like the sketch. I placed the sentiment stamp onto my Misti in the middle. I masked off the Ready and Blow with tape and inked up the word SET. I stamped it in the middle of the card.  I then masked off the ready and the set, inked in up.... move the card 1/2 inch to the right and stamped the Blow. Lastly I masked the Set, and the blow.... inked up the stamp, moved the card base to the right a 1/2 inch from the starting point or an inch from where it was last and stamped the Ready on the left.  Using the Misti assured the sentiment was straight across.

Strawberry Mouse House

This is my card for the Gerda Steiner Progressive challenge using the Strawberry Mouse.  The card base is an extra one I had laying around from a previous card. I die cut the door and stamped it with a wood grain stamp and sponged it with Tim Holtz distress inks.  I cut the door panel off at the same angle as my wooden floor and scored in the baseboard on the bottom. I stamped the sentiment using my Misti.

I popped up the card front onto the base using foam tape. I printed and colored my strawberry mouse using Copic Markers.

I ended up cutting two of the strawberries off so it would look right and the strawberries weren't in the air since I wanted him inside the door.  ( I placed the cut pieces back around the mouse in the photo above so you can see what it would have looked like. )

I printed out another Strawberry Mouse for the inside and colored only one strawberry. I also added another wood floor for him to sit on.  A smaller mouse was printed and I cut it out using a tag die and matted it with red and trimmed 1/16 inch around it with my Perfect Layers tools. I punched the end of the tag with a 1/4 hole punch and added ribbon.

Stamps:  Gerda Steiner Strawberry Mouse, Jaded Blossom Berrylicious sentiment, Lawn Fawn Woodgrain backdrop, Stampin Up Fruity Phrases (tag sentiment)
Supplies: Misti, My Favorite Things Stitched Traditional Tag Stax, Perfect Layers Tools, Ribbon, 1/4 inch hole punch, Your Next Stamp Front Door die, Freckled Fawn black enamel dew drop sticker for doorknob, Papertrey Ink white and misc red card stock, Copic Markers: C0, 1, 2, 3, 5, B000, G43, 46, R20, 32, 35, 37, 59, 85, E95.

Knit Happens Kitty

I had so much fun masking the ball of yarn.

I knew I wanted to make a big pile of yarn balls so I stamped a bunch of balls onto some copy paper and cut them out. I started stamping the solid balls  but took off the piece of yarn that extended beyond the ball.  After inking each one, I wiped the extra piece of yarn off the stamp using my damp absorber cloth. I stamped all of the solid balls of yarn and placed a mask over each one. I continued stamping balls of yarn and masking as needed.

I filled in any open gaps with a Copic Liner and colored the pile of yarn with Copic Markers. I stamped, drew in a little extra detail for the kitty's stripes, and colored my kitty with Copic Markers. I fussy cut both the kitty and the pile of yarn. I cut around the kitty's paws to slide his bottom half behind the pile of yarn. I drew in the wooden floor, masked it off and sponged some Tim Holtz Distress Inks over it. I also scored in the baseboard.  I popped up the kitty and pile of yarn onto my card base.

Supplies: Foam tape, Copic markers and a liner, Tim Holtz Distress: antique linen, tea dye, walnut stain, Stampin Up chocolate chip, Memento black ink, Neenah white card stock.

Wavin' Hello

I created my card by die cutting my front panel with the MFT stitched dome stax and attaching a piece of dp to the left side.  I corner chomped the front panel as well as the base card.  My wave was created using MFT catch a wave die-namics. The wave was sponged with distress ink and spritzed with water for extra detail. The Lawn Fawn dolphin was stamped, colored, and fussy cut. The MFT dome was sponged using a cloud stencil.  I stamped the front panel using my Misti.  The dolphin and dome were adhered to the card base and the front panel was popped up with foam tape.

Dive In to Summer

Happy 4th of July.  Summer is here so I thought the Beach Booty Set was perfect for a card.   I created my background with a MFT wave die and a cloud stencil. I die cut a piece of thin card stock with the wave die and sponged different layers of waves. I took the cloud stencils and sponged in the clouds on the top. I die cut my frame using MFT double stitched rectangle stax. I stamped, colored, and fussy cut my Beach Booty and placed her on an Action Wobble for movement. The sentiment was created using MFT little letter dies.
