Fur Babies

A little over 20 years ago or so I bought this plaster baby animal statue to paint. I painted it and displayed it here and there over the years. A few years ago I came across the matching rubber stamp and bought it.
I finally inked up the stamp and colored it with Copic Markers. I stamped the background using my Misti.  A rectangle die was used to cut my frame from the map, an extra piece of white card stock and the card front. While fussy cutting the animals I left a tab on top of the polar bear's head and sandwiched it between the card front and extra white piece making it more stable.

I only have a couple of statues left that I painted so long ago.  I stopped painting ceramics and such when I started card making.

MFT Ham It Up

A last minute card for the MFT  sketch challenge.  I die cut the letter out of dp and 2 more layers out of white card stock for each letter. I glued two white layers together and colored them with a Copic to match the dp. I drew the floor using my Checkerboard Flooring technique that I modified for wood floors.  I stamped the floor with the MFT Woodgrain BG and sponged over it with more ink. I scored the baseboards. I used a ruler to match the angle of my floor for quick and easy placement and glued the letters to the card base. The pig is fussy cut and popped up using foam tape. I added Wink of Stella to my letters for a little sparkle.

The Cat's Meow !

It has taken me a couple of days to find the time, but I've finally finished this card. I cut a window from my card front to resemble the 4 inspiration squares from Lawn Fawnatics challenge #5. I also used a couple of the inspiration squares and the colors for the card. I stamped the tree and cat and colored them with Copic Markers. I die cut the tree and fussy cut the cat. I die cut 8 flowers  and I cut a piece of light pink twine and colored them with the same Copic Markers to match. After coloring the little flowers I used a stylus to push them into a thick mouse pad to give them dimension.  I drew the floor using my checkerboard flooring technique at Splitcoaststampers. I just staggered the horizontal lines to resemble wood floors. I stamped the floor using the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain backdrop stamp. I scored in the baseboard lines then stamped my sentiment using my Misti. The cat is popped up with foam tape  and the card front is popped up over the card base to give dimension to the window and make room for the little flowers. I added Wink of Stella to the flower centers and the cat's nose.

After going to the Your Next Stamp blog and checking out their latest challenge, I just had to color up one of their images with all of the yummy colors from their color challenge.   What better image than a penguin carrying a triple decker ice cream cone.   I colored him with Copics and added a little Wink of Stella to each scoop and to his party hat.  A quick CAS card.

A-Maze-ing You

I only have one Neat & Tangled stamp set at the moment so I will need to put my thinking cap on until I get a few more sets. I've already used this set twice so we shall see what is next..... This card was easier to design in my head than it was to create.

I created a stencil out of thin card stock using the Cheery Lynn background die.

I trimmed the inside to create the path so I could use as a stencil to sponge just the path.  I taped off the other squares and sponged with TH distress ink.

I traced the path and cut a piece of acetate to cover just the path and not the squares. I die cut another background from Neenah card stock and glued the acetate path to it.  I die cut another background out of a piece of fun foam to use for dimension and was surprised when I went to adhere it to my card stock  that the foam had stretched.....  But I worked with it until I got the squares to line up as close as possible. I stamped, colored my mouse and created a curly little tail and let dry.  When I went back to get him, he was gone..... No where to be found...    So I colored another little mouse with a curly little tail to use. I added Wink of Stella to give me a little sparkle and the tail made from embroidery thread. I combined two different stamps sets to create my sentiment.

Stamps: Neat & Tangled Kitty's Favorite Things (The mouse and You are and in every way sentiments)  and Papertrey Ink The A-maz-ing stamp set (a-maze-ing) sentiment
Supplies: Cheery Lynn Designs Small Window A2 Frame die, fun foam, acetate, Misti, Tim Holtz antique linen distress and memento black inks, Wink of Stella, Neenah white, Georgia Pacific card stock, embroidery thread, Copic Markers: C0, 1, 2, 3, R20, blue painters tape

Gerbera Frame

This is my first attempt at a frame for the Power Poppy challenge.   I had attached it to a card but wasn't very happy with it. I removed it from the card so I will just display it in my craft room as is.    I layered the Power Poppy Gerbera Daisies digi to create a background. I die cut several rectangles from the background and popped up two frames.  It was colored with Copic Markers and Wink of Stella was added to the orange daisy.  The sentiment was computer generated.

Stamps: Power Poppy Hellebores and Gerbera Daisies digital Stamps
Supplies,  Stitched Rectangle dies, foam tape, Wink of Stella, Copic Markers:  Gerbera Daisies: Y11, 13,15, 18, YR12, 04, 07, 09, B02, YR23

Hellebores Frame

This is my second attempt at a frame. The SplitCoastStampers inspiration challenge comes through once again. Thanks to Audrie for always inspiring me.  I chose this flower clipart for my inspiration. I arranged the Power Poppy Hellebores digi in three places using my old Printmaster program. After printing it out I took a rectangle die and penciled in the inner rectangle and then used a kraft knife and scissors to cut the frame and around all of the flowers that were inside the frame. My flowers are colored using Copic Markers. I popped up the frame over my printed Power Poppy sentiment and it was all attached to my card base.

I'm So Blue

Lawn Fawn's challenge this time is Black and White and a Pop of color. I chose to do penguins. I stamped my penguin four times using my Misti. I colored them with Copic Markers. I created my sentiment in my Printmaster program by creating a black rectangle for a bottom layer and changing the font color to white.  The sentiment is popped up with foam tape and the card front is popped up using fun foam.

I made a quick mat for the inside sentiment using the matching Copic marker around the outside of the mat layer.

Supplies: Fun foam, foam tape, Neenah white card stock, Copic Markers C05, 06, 07, YR04, 07, 15, B02, 04, 05.

You're Special

Today I'm using the new challenge digi from Gerda Steiner called Flowers for you.  She a sweet girl with a bouquet of Flowers.  I printed and colored her with Copic Markers. I took a Spellbinder circle die and laid it onto the card where I wanted it and marked with a pencil where the flowers would touch. I trimmed around the flowers with a kraft knife a little farther out than my marks. I placed the circle die back into place making sure the flowers were on top and wouldn't be cut. Kinda like an Out of the Box technique. I die cut a piece of Pink card stock with a frame and die cut a larger circle from the center to layer over my card base. I used the Misti to stamp the sentiment and popped up the top layers over the card base.

Stamps: Gerda Steiner Flowers for you digi, (Image was flipped) and Inkadinkado Expressions sentiment
