Happy Mother's Day 2017

Mother's Day is extra special for us this year. My mom is staying with us for a while. We feel blessed. I wanted to make a special card this year that she could enjoy all year long. The sentiment is small to fit within the center of the doily but big with heart. I originally was going to use half the doily and create a normal easel card but then wanted to have just the jar sitting on the doily, as if on a table. I scored the base of the card and sponged with several brown inks. I added an extra piece of card stock to the bottom to make it more stable after scoring. The doily was stamped with my Misti and adhered down. I took a tissue over the top to remove any stickiness.

The jar was stamped using my Misti as well. I used a Memento marker instead of the ink pad. I added ink to everything except the HELLO. After stamping, I took the Memento marker and filled in the stems.

The Roses were stamped twice and everything was colored with Copic Markers. I fussy cut all images out and popped up the largest rose over the set of three roses for dimension. I scored the base card for the easel and penciled around the jar to trim to size.

Stamps: Stampendous Build a Bouquet and Taylored Expression Many Minis-Holiday (sentiment)
Supplies: Doily, Neenah white and Papertrey Ink kraft card stock, Memento black marker and ink pad, Misti, Copic Markers R20, 22, 24, BG0000, YG61, 63, 67, Scoreboard.

This was made with left over pieces after making my Mother's Day card. I scored the easel a little different. It is scored at 2 1/4 inches and 5 1/2 inches. The doily was cut in half and adhered to a half a circle and popped up with a piece of scored PTI kraft to resemble woodgrain.

Happy Graduation Bear

My card was created using some left over pieces from two different cards I've done. I printed the bear first and masked him so I could stamp the notebook paper over him using my Misti. The bear is colored with pencils. I stamped and die cut the grad cap and it is colored with Copic Markers. The cap is popped up on the bears head. I rounded two corners on the card and stamped happy graduation on the lines.  I punched two holes to resemble notebook paper.

Supplies: Corner Chomper, 1/4 hole punch, foam tape, Lawn Fawn Hats off to You die, Polychromos pencils, Copic Markers C5, 06, 7, 9, R24, 27, 29, Baby oil, Misti

The Big 50 Jackpot

                                                            SECOND CARD
                                                               Inside of Birthday card

I always struggle when it comes to sketches with lots of layers and details.  I worked on this one off and on all day.  Well this is actually the second card for the sketch, the first one is the one with the blue card base.  I wasn't happy with the way it turned out so I made the one on top with the white card base.

                                                                          First Card

I created the Casino Chip in paint (Microsoft computer paint program) and added the pig from "From the Heart Stamps"  Hogs and Kisses PigWit digital stamp in Printmaster. I cropped the pig to a circle and placed him in the center of the chip. The images were colored with Copic Markers and Zip markers for those tiny areas. Isn't he a dapper pig?

Stamps: From the Heart Stamps Slot Machine Birdbrain and Hogs and Kisses PigWit digis. Happy Birthday and the inside sentiment are computer generated.
Supplies: Papertrey Ink pure poppy and white cardstock, Doodlebug Design Take Note paper pad, My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle Frames, 1 1/4 Circle punch, Foam tape, Copic Markers C00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, R24, 27, 29, E00, 04, 50, 93, 95, B05, 06, Y13, 18, Zig Writer Markerspure yellow, Pure Red, and Baby Blue, Scoreboard, Printmaster Program.

Save the Date Calendar

Thank you Lois for stepping in for the inspiration challenge today at Splitcoaststampers. I was inspired by this calendar easel made by Melissa Craig. The calendar was created using my Printmaster program. It is the rest of  2017 and all of 2018. It is stapled together using a heavy duty stapler that is  capable of stapling 100 pages if needed. I created the  background by resizing the Power Poppy Gerbera Daisies that I masked out (removed) the stems and turned into a PGN image to layer them. The flowers are colored with Copic Markers. The calendar base is 4 inches wide x 5 inches tall.

The easel was created using a piece of card stock 4 inches wide x 11 inches long. It was scored at 1/2, 5 1/2 and 10 1/2 inches. Another piece of card stock 4 inches wide x 2 3/4 inches long was scored on the  2 3/4 inches side at 1 3/8 inches.  This piece was glued to the 1/2 inch scored flaps on the bottom of the calendar base.

Stamps: Power Poppy Stamps Gerbera Daisies Digital Stamp and Waffle Flower Calendar stamp (save the date)
Supplies, Waffle Flower Stay Focused Die (notebook edge piece) staples, stapler, Neenah white and Papertrey ink orange zest card stock, Printmaster program, Misti, Scoreboard, Memento black ink and Copic Markers, Y11, 13, 15, 18, YR04, 07, 12, 15, R20, 22, 24, E97, BG32, 34, G14, B06, (the background around the flowers has three different Copics because I wasn't happy with the color.

Notebook Paper Note Cards

I can't get enough of this little Pen Pal Bear from Gerda Steiner Designs.  So I made another set of cards with him. I created a notebook paper background using my Printmaster Program and added the little bears to the front.
I printed out 4 more bears to color and fussy cut and I added them over the front of each card. I rounded two of the corners  and punched two holes to make the cards look like Notebook paper. The sentiment was computer generated.
The box was made to fit 4 cards and 4 envelopes. I used the sketch from MFT on the front of the card. The Bear was created using the pointillism technique.
The box was created using a piece of card stock 8 x 11 inches. On the 11 inch side it was scored at 1/2, 1 1/4, 5 3/4, and 6 1/2 inches. On the 8 inch side it was scored at 3/4, 6 3/4 , and 7 1/2 inches. The zigzag lines are where it was cut and the X's are what pieces were removed. The front piece was folded down and adhered to the inside of the box for a clean look.
I used 3 MFT dies to create the sketch.

Stamps: Gerda Steiner Designs Pen Pal Bear digi and Hambo Stamps Pencil digi. The Hambo pencil digi was changed a bit. I took some of the black pencil point out to create a little extra room to add color to resemble a colored pencil.  Hambo Stamps angel policy is that you can make changes to their digis as long as you make note of it in your description. The letters for NOTE were added to the pencils using my Printmaster Program.

Supplies: Papertrey Ink lovely lady, green parakeet,  Hawaiian shores, and Neenah white card stock, My Favorite Things inside & out Diagonal stitched rectangle, Postage Stamp staxs, and Vertical Stitched Strips Die-namics, foam tape, 1/4 hole punch, Copics Markers E21, 23, 25, 27, 51 YG17, 21, 23, 25, BG32, 34, C5, 7, RV52, 55, Scoreboard.

Happy 8th Birthday Notes

I thought the new monthly digi from Gerda Steiner Designs would be cute as a note card set to give as a gift. I printed 8 on one sheet of card stock and colored them with Copic Markers creating a rainbow. Each card base is  2 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches scored and folded in half. Front sentiment was computer generated using my Printmaster program.

I trimmed down dp from a MFT paper pack and adhered to the inside to correspond with each card base. I placed each note insert into the Misti and used a piece of scrap card stock placed at the bottom.  This made it easier to adhered each piece of dp into the same position.

The box was made using a piece of 4 3/8 inch x 11 inch card stock. On the long side it was scored at 1/2, 1 3/8, 5 3/4, 6 1/8 inches and on the short side it was scored at 7/8 and 3 3/4 inches. I removed the two smaller corners and cut where indicated in the photo. I used a corner rounder on the flap/top of the box.

I stamped the outside of the box with a couple of Simon Says Stamps birthday images and adhered the box together with Tombo Mono glue.
The front of the box is decorated with a Gerda Steiner Designs Bear Hug digi which was fussy cut and popped up through a die cut circle negative. The Simon Says Stamp Birthday Sentiment was stamped using my Misti.

Stamps:  Gerda Steiner Designs Pen Pal Bear (notes) and Bear Hug  (box front), Simon Says Stamps Birthday Messages (sentiment) and Baby Party Animals stamp set (balloon and gift on the outside of the box).
Supplies: Papertrey ink white,  green parakeet, amethyst allure, lovely lady, bright buttercup. orange zest, and pure poppy card stock, SU pink passion and a misc blue card stock, My favorite Things Graphic Grid (inside note) and Taylored Expressions Rainbow Brights (front circle) paper packs, Lil' Inkers Designs Dual Stitched Circles die, 1/2 inch Crop-a-dile corner chomper, Misti, Scoreboard, PTI green parakeet and Memento black ink, Tombo mono glue, Foam tape,  Copic multi-liner and Markers. Happy Birthday Peeps

This card took a little thinking to incorporate a few challenges together. But I think I did it.
I already had Birdbrain printed out, he just needed to be colored. I used the sketch from "From the Heart Stamps" and cut the Simon Says circle sayings stamp to accommodate around my cut circle and stamped it using my Misti. The peeps are from the Lawn Fawn Party Animal set. The Sentiment is from Sugarpea Designs Totes Ma Goat with the  "Kid" part cut off and replaced with another cut sentiment (Peeps) from Jaded Blossoms. I added some clear beads, rainbow colored balls, and birthday Peeps into my shaker. The scene was sponged with distressed inks using a cut mask for the hills and the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud dies for a cloud template.

Stamps: Lawn Fawn Party Animal (little chicks), SugarPea Designs Totes Ma Goats (Happy Birthday from my favorite), Jaded Blossoms Easter Treats 2 (Peeps sentiment), Simon Says Stamp Circle Sayings (Happy Birthday Circle stamp), From the Heart Digi Flappy Birthday Birdbrain.

Supplies: acetate, foam tape, clear beads, tiny balls, Sizzix circle dies, twine, Misti, white gel pen, Lawn Fawn Stitched Puffy Cloud Dies, Tim Holtz tumbled glass and mowed lawn Distress Inks, Memento black, Copic Markers: YR02, 04, 07, 16, Y11, 13, 15, 18, G12, 14, 43, B02, 04, V09, RV06, R27, E23, Tim Holtz mini sponger,  fun foam, and Neenah white card stock.
